Their computer, their printers, and their routine matter to them, and I treat all of it with respect. If your dad wants to walk me through every piece of equipment on his desk before I touch anything, we do that, at his pace. If the same question comes up three times, it gets answered three times, the same friendly way. Nobody gets corrected, talked over, or made to feel like a guest in their own home.
