Repaired in Place, Not Wiped
Most Windows problems are one broken component, not a broken computer. Update failures, boot loops, and login problems each have a specific cause, and fixing that cause keeps your programs, files, and settings exactly where they are. Wiping the machine is what you do when you cannot find the cause.
The exception is a failing drive. A boot loop that keeps coming back is often the drive itself, and then the job becomes getting your files safe, replacing the drive, and reinstalling Windows fresh. You hear that as soon as the drive test says so.
Account and password problems are handled through Microsoft’s own recovery, or with a proper local account reset. At no point does anyone need remote control of your computer, and if a search result told you to call a number, do not.
Turnaround: most hardware repairs are completed within about 24 hours — exact timing depends on the specific issue and, for replacements, parts availability for your model. You’ll always get an honest estimate of both cost and time before any work begins.

Windows won’t update, or won’t start, or I’m locked out of my own computer
Three different problems arrive on the same call: an update stuck at a percentage for hours, a boot loop or “preparing automatic repair” screen, and a login that no longer accepts the password or PIN you have used for years. There is also the fourth one now: Windows 10 stopped getting security updates in October 2025, and a lot of machines cannot take Windows 11 because of a hardware requirement, so the question becomes what to do with the computer.
At your home I repair Windows in place wherever possible, so your programs and files stay put. Stuck updates get unstuck, boot loops get their cause fixed (it is often a drive on its way out, which changes the plan), and lockouts are handled properly through your Microsoft account or a local account reset, without the “support” scams that come up when you search for it. Windows 10 no longer gets security fixes. If the machine has an 8th generation Intel or newer processor and a TPM 2.0 chip, it can move to Windows 11 and I do that as an operating system repair. If it cannot, we talk about whether it is worth keeping.
Windows 11 updates that will not finish
An update stuck at 0 or 99 percent, or one that fails and rolls back every night, usually has one broken component underneath. It gets repaired rather than reinstalled, and the update goes through.
BitLocker recovery key
A blue screen asking for a 48-digit BitLocker key after an update is not a hack. The key is saved to the Microsoft account the computer was set up with, and I know where to look. Without it, the data is genuinely gone, so this is a call, not a search.
Locked out: Microsoft account or local account
A Microsoft account password is reset online from any device. A local account is different, and the honest tools for it exist. Either way the fix does not involve giving a stranger remote control of your computer.
HP, Dell, and Lenovo recovery
Each brand keeps its own recovery route: HP Cloud Recovery, Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery, Lenovo’s recovery partition. When a reinstall is needed, the brand tool restores the right drivers with it.
Mac and Chromebook
macOS reinstalls from its built-in recovery without touching files when done right, and a Chromebook that will not update is usually past its automatic update expiry date, which Google publishes per model. A powerwash on a Chromebook is the last step, not the first.

Do I lose my programs if you repair Windows?
No. Repair in place keeps everything. A clean reinstall is only used when the drive is failing or the system is beyond repair, and then your files are backed up first and programs reinstalled.
Can my computer run Windows 11?
If it has an 8th generation Intel or newer processor (or the AMD equivalent) and a TPM 2.0 chip, yes, and I do the upgrade as an operating system repair. If not, I will tell you what the options are.
I got a BitLocker recovery screen. Is my data gone?
