The setup starts with the account: Windows 11 wants a Microsoft account, Macs want an Apple account, and both need a phone or email that can receive a code. Then the preloaded trial antivirus and support apps come off, because they slow a new machine from day one.
The transfer is the real work. Photos and documents are copied and verified. Email is signed in fresh and the archive imported. Browser passwords, bookmarks, and the printer come across. Paid software is checked for whether its license moves before anything is bought again.
The old computer stays intact as a backup for a while. When you are certain nothing is missing, I can wipe it properly so it is safe to donate, sell, or recycle.
Turnaround: most hardware repairs are completed within about 24 hours — exact timing depends on the specific issue and, for replacements, parts availability for your model. You’ll always get an honest estimate of both cost and time before any work begins.

The new computer is the easy part. A transfer that misses one of those turns into a month of small emergencies.

What it costs

How fast
Most setups with a transfer are done in one visit. A very large photo library or a slow old computer can push the copy into a second stop, and I say so when I see the sizes.

By what you’re moving
Photos and documents
Copied in full, then verified by count, not by a glance. If the old drive is failing, the copy is done gently and read-only, the same way as a data recovery job.
Email in Outlook
Outlook profiles do not move by copying files. Accounts are signed in fresh on the new machine and old mail, contacts, and calendars are imported so nothing from the archive is lost.
Passwords
Passwords saved in Chrome, Edge, or Safari are exported and imported, or moved through a proper password manager if you want one. This is the step most people find out about a week later.
Microsoft Office
Microsoft 365 moves with your sign-in. Office 2019 or 2021 bought with a key is tied to one machine and sometimes moves, sometimes does not. I check before you buy anything new.
QuickBooks and business software
QuickBooks Desktop needs its company file, its license, and its version installed in the right order. Tax software, label printers, and scanners all get their drivers back.
Old Mac to new Mac, or Windows to Mac
Migration Assistant does the heavy lifting between Macs. Windows to Mac works too; Outlook and Office move, some Windows-only programs do not, and you hear which before the switch.
