Questions People Actually Ask
Straight answers about how in-home computer repair works in Woodstock — costs, timing, and what I can and cannot do.
Q: Do you come to my home?
A: Yes. In-home service is the core of the business, not an add-on, and there is no trip charge. I come to your home or small business anywhere in Woodstock, Canton, Holly Springs, Towne Lake, and the rest of Cherokee County, and I do the work right there with you watching and asking questions.
Q: Who exactly is coming into my house?
A: Me, Justin, the owner, every time. No rotating technicians and no strangers. Woodstock Computer Repair is a registered Georgia LLC, licensed by the City of Woodstock, and insured. As the owner, I have completed a Level 2 criminal history background check and am subject to ongoing monthly monitoring. Adult children booking visits for their parents ask this all the time, and they should.
Q: What areas do you serve?
A: I am based in Woodstock (Towne Lake) and serve all of Woodstock, Canton, Holly Springs, Towne Lake, Ball Ground, and Cherokee County, plus nearby Acworth and Kennesaw.
Q: How quickly can you come?
A: Often the same day. Most hardware repairs are completed within about 24 hours once parts are in hand. Call or text 770-356-4462 and I will tell you honestly when I can be there.
Q: What does a visit cost?
A: Diagnostics are free and there is no trip charge anywhere in the service area. The most common repairs are flat fees: tune-ups $75, virus removal $100, operating system repair $85, printer or WiFi problems $85. Anything else is $85 per hour plus parts, with a free phone consultation first and an upfront estimate before any work begins. Full details are on the pricing page.
Q: Do you work on Macs?
A: Yes. MacBook repair is a regular part of the work: batteries, screens, storage upgrades, macOS problems, and data transfers, alongside Windows PCs and laptops.
Q: Can you fix my WiFi?
A: Yes, and WiFi problems are one of the most common house calls. Weak signal rooms, devices that will not stay connected, misplaced range extenders, and new-router setups — this is exactly the kind of problem that has to be fixed in the house, room by room.
Q: Do you remove viruses and scam pop-ups?
A: Yes. Virus and malware removal, fake warning pop-ups, browser hijackers, and cleanup after a scam call, with your files kept safe. If a scary screen is telling you to call a phone number, do not call it — call me instead.
Q: Can you fix printer problems?
A: Yes. Printers that will not print, will not scan, or keep dropping offline are a specialty, at your home or office, on your own network where the problem actually lives.
Q: Can you recover lost files?
A: Often, yes. Data recovery from failing or damaged drives is offered honestly: I will tell you what is realistic for your situation before you spend money, and results are never oversold.
Q: Do you work on gaming PCs?
A: Yes. Custom builds, upgrades, thermal problems, crash diagnostics, and graphics card issues on gaming and enthusiast machines.
Q: Do you help seniors?
A: It is one of my favorite parts of the job. Patient, plain-English help with no rushing and no jargon, in your own home — including scam cleanup and prevention. Adult children set up visits for their parents all the time.
Q: Do you offer remote support?
A: Some quick questions can be handled over a call or text at no charge. For real repairs I come to you: hands on the machine, on your network, where the problem actually is — and you never have to give a stranger remote control of your computer.
Q: What if my computer is not worth repairing?
A: Then I will tell you exactly that. If a machine is at the end of its road, I will say so honestly and help you move your files, passwords, and photos safely to a new one instead of selling you a repair that will not satisfy.
Q: Do you guarantee your work?
A: Yes. All work carries a 30-day warranty: if a fix I completed stops working, I come back and make it right. Parts come with the manufacturer’s warranty, and I handle the return or replacement for you under their rules.
Q: How do I get started?
A: Call or text 770-356-4462 and describe what is going on, or send the contact form. The phone consultation is free, and you will get a straight answer about cost, time, and whether a visit even makes sense.
Q: Can I book a visit online?
A: Yes. The Book Online page shows my real calendar: pick a time that works, describe what the computer is doing in the notes, and I will call or text before your appointment. It takes about a minute.
